Britton Deerfield 60, Pittsford 22
PITTSFORD – Britton Deerfield piled up 600 yards rushing and held Pittsford’s passing attack to just 45 yards to win the season opener.
Caden Kubacki rushed for 166 yards, Liem Roe 136 and Trevor Karpinski 112 for BD. Cayden Allshouse had 86 yards. As a team, the Patriots rushed 43 times for 600 yards and had 10 yards through the air.
Kubacki rushed for four touchdowns, Karpinski two and Roe and Josiah Graveline had one each.
Clintondale 20, Addison 18
ADDISON – The Panthers trailed from the start and fell two points short in their season opener.
Addison scored on a 2-yard touchdown run by Logan Jewell in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t tie the game with the conversion. It was Jewell’s second TD of the game.
Austin Wilson had Addison’s first touchdown on a 54-yard interception return in the third quarter.
Jewell rushed for 40 yards and Andrew Huston went 4-for-5 for 50 yards to lead the Panther offense.
Adrian 21, Dundee 0
ADRIAN – Luke Bruggeman rushed for 143 yards and Cooper Howard passed for 100 yards to lead Adrian to the 21-0 shutout win over Dundee.
Howard threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to Adam Parker. Jaxon Dowling hit Landunn Branch on a 5-yard scoring play. Lamont McKinney returned an interception three yards for the first Maple touchdown.
Adrian had 292 yards of total offense.
Whiteford 56, Blissfield 0
BLISSFIELD – The Whiteford Bobcats took advantage of two early Blissfield turnovers to jump out to a 16-0 lead in the first eight minutes of the game and rolled to a 56-0 season opening victory.
Caden Stewart grabbed an interception on Blissfield’s first offensive play, which led to a Whiteford scoring drive.
Brek Ruddy scored three touchdowns, Drew Ruddy two and Antonio Nachtrab and Andres Trejo added the other Bobcat touchdowns.
The Bobcats had 439 yards of total offense, compared to 123 for Blissfield.
Remy Yanakeff had a 55 yard run for the Royals, who were 1-for-8 passing on the night.Britton Deerfield 60, Pittsford 22
SMCC 42, Clinton 6
ADRIAN – Clinton hung with Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central in the first half, but the Falcons ran away with the win in the second half with 34 unanswered points to hand the Redwolves a 42-6 loss.
Clinton trailed 2-0 after the first quarter following a blocked punt out of the back of the endzone and SMCC made it an 8-0 lead with a Brady Hines touchdown run with 5:24 left before the half.
The Redwolves rallied behind a 37-yard touchdown pass by Gradyn Whelan to Decari Garrison and then got a 3-and-out, but didn’t have enough time to fulfill another drive before halftime.
The second half was all Falcons as Hines ran in a touchdown and threw for another to Brock Cousino, Cole Reinhardt scored twice and Tyler St. Pierre had a 1-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Clinton will look to bounce back to open LCAA play at 7 p.m. Friday at Madison.
Tecumseh 42, Airport 16
TECUMSEH – After a slow start for Tecumseh, it kicked up late as it rolled to a 42-16 win against Carleton Airport.
Tecumseh trailed 9-0 after the first, but cut the deficit to 9-7 when Rocco Williams threw a touchdown to Connor Bullinger before the half.
The Jets re-took the lead in the third with an 11-yard touchdown run to go up 16-7, but it was all Tecumseh then on out.
Luke Dunham had a 2-yard touchdown to make it 16-14 going into the fourth before Dunham scooped up a fumble and returned it 90 yards for another touchdown to go up 20-16. Dunham added touchdown runs of six and 17 yards in the fourth before Chance Gormley had a 49-yard touchdown run to cap the scoring.
Tecumseh opens SEC White play at 7 p.m. Friday when it hosts Pinckney.
Hudson 44, Fowler 8
HUDSON – Beckett Campbell had touchdown runs of 76 and 25 yards and caught a 86 yard screen pass from Colt Perry as Hudson rolled over Fowler, getting some revenge for last year’s season-opening defeat.
Perry had a 52-yard scoring run while Devon Brigman and Grayson Bills also had touchdown runs for Hudson.
Lenawee Christian 66, Memphis 24
ADRIAN – Big plays were the key for Lenawee Christian, who started off the season with a 66-24 victory.
Judah Penny returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown to get LCS on the board.
Drew Kirkendall scored on a 68-yard catch. Jaxon Salenbien scored on a 30-yard reverse, then a 32-yard run as the Cougars went up 26-0.
Kirkendall’s second TD catch made it 34-0 before the first over ended.
In the second quarter it was more of the same. Kirkendall caught a 35-yard pass to make it 40-0. Salenbien ran for a 25-yard touchdown then caught TD passes of 51 and 73 as LCS got to 66 points.
Madison 56, Grass Lake 0
In the first meeting between the two schools, the Trojans put up the most points they have scored as a team in five years.
Brian Dopp rushed for 175 yards and three touchdowns for the Trojans. He also passed for a touchdown.
Madison led 42-0 at the half.
Michigan Center 42, Onsted 0
Onsted was shutout by the Cardinals in the coaching debut of Randy Hutchison.

Vandercook Lake 21, Sand Creek 14
Vandercook Lake scored a touchdown with two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to beat the Aggies, who led 14-0 at one point in the game.
Sand Creek had six fumbles and lost four of them.
